I stayed a night in maragogi and spent an afternoon in porto galinhas. Both cities have cheap hostel rates. There are small vans that go to the further beaches, and they pass very often (5 to 7 reais). I suggest to stop to the first beach (grande or antonin) and working your way to the center.

Amazing color sea, very warm water, and calm wave. If you visit Maragogi, here is one of best option to go.
It is close to Barra Grande beach, you can go two place at the same time.

The water is warm. There are no waves. The water, close to the sand is dirty because of the boats. To get a chair there, normally you need to pay around 100 reais consumable.
The sand is hot. You need to wear flipflops.
